With an estimated 900 million dogs on this planet, and some making it to shelters after being rescued, what story could or would rescue dogs tell us?

I love being the owner of our rescue dog, Zoe, and having her as part of our family. Like most dog owners, I’ve spent considerable time talking with Zoe and often waited for a response. Sometimes I get one, sometimes not so lucky, but it’s the time we’ve spent together that matters.

This book offers a “dog’s perspective” of what it might be like to be a rescue dog. Sure, I’ve taken some license with the stories, but hey, it couldn’t hurt to try to give a rescue dog a voice if they can’t speak for themselves.

It’s always made me wonder what different rescue dogs have been through: their abandonment, the conditions they’ve lived through and, hopefully, the love they’ve received from rescue dog loving “Hoomans”.

Imagination is more important than knowledge and the love of a dog is unconditional, put these two together and the outcome is a roller coaster of emotion, love and understanding of how rescue dogs can support well-being.
