Refund policy

InHouse Bookstore accepts returns for items that arrive faulty, damaged, or not as ordered. We don't offer change-of-mind returns — please choose carefully, and get in touch before ordering if you have any questions about a title.

This policy sits alongside your rights under the Australian Consumer Law. Nothing here limits the statutory consumer guarantees you're entitled to: if a book has a major problem you can choose a replacement or refund; if it has a minor problem, we'll repair, replace, or refund it.

Damaged or incorrect orders

Please inspect your order as soon as it arrives. If a book has arrived damaged, or isn't the title you ordered, contact us within 14 days of delivery at orders@inhousebookstore.com.au with your order number and a photo of the issue. We'll arrange a replacement or refund and cover the cost of return postage — you won't be out of pocket for our mistake or a courier's.

Faulty books

If a book has a fault that isn't down to normal wear — misbound pages, missing signatures, printing defects — contact us at orders@inhousebookstore.com.au with your order number and details. Faults like these are covered by the Australian Consumer Law and aren't limited to the 14-day window above.

Starting a return

Email orders@inhousebookstore.com.au before sending anything back. Returns posted to us without prior contact and an order number can't be processed until we've spoken with you. Once approved, send your return to:

InHouse Bookstore
75 Parramatta Road
Underwood QLD 4119
Australia

Refunds

Once we've received and inspected your return, we'll email you to confirm whether the refund is approved. Approved refunds go back to your original payment method within 10 business days. Your bank or card provider may take a little longer to post it to your account. If more than 15 business days have passed since we approved your refund and you still haven't seen it, contact us at orders@inhousebookstore.com.au.
