Loved it! An amazing read
This book was hard to put down! It had everything it needed to make it a pulse pounding thriller. From the bad guy to each of his hostages, I was invested in every one and couldnt wait to find out how it ended. Highly recommend!
In "The Chosen Seven" the stage is set for a pulse-pounding thriller that unfolds in a city restaurant held captive by the unhinged Farzad Abed. A socio-political ticking time bomb, Farzad's random selection of hostages, including fitness fanatic Jacob, unassuming waitress Jagriti, fearless businesswoman Regina, and others, thrusts them into a nightmarish situation.
The author masterfully weaves together the lives of these unsuspecting characters, each with their own fears and aspirations, caught in a terrifying web orchestrated by Farzad. The narrative unfolds like a roller coaster, intensifying with each turn of the page.
The diverse cast of characters adds depth to the story, reflecting the multicultural reality of the modern world. "The Chosen Seven" is a gripping exploration of fear, resilience, and the unlikely heroism that emerges in the face of terror. The author has managed to keep readers on the edge of their seats, delivering a suspenseful narrative that is both thrilling and thought-provoking.
Gill’s exquisite mastery of the written word transports her readers in to the psyche of seemingly mismatched characters as they navigate crisis and trauma, creating a bond between reader and character, drawing a sense of connection to people you wouldn’t be ordinarily drawn to in day to day life. I found myself investing in the outcomes of the characters and finding relief in their stories of survival and resilience. It’s was truely a riveting read.
I can’t wait to read more of Gill’s work
I have just finished reading "The Chosen Seven" by Gill D. Anderson on my tablet, courtesy of my girlfriend's Kindle Unlimited subscription. This gripping thriller takes place in Adelaide, Australia, where a terrorist siege unfolds at a popular Italian restaurant, Alessandro's Cucina. The extremist behind the siege selects six hostages and uses them to incite terror and pressure the Australian government into apologizing for their actions against ISIS.
Despite the story taking place over the course of a few hours, the author skillfully provides insightful background information about each character involved in the siege. The characters' diverse interests and motivations are explored in depth, making them feel real and adding to the tension of the plot.
The author employs a clever technique of mixing live-action chapters with flashbacks of each character, reminiscent of many successful thrillers on the big screen. It's no surprise that the story would translate well into a 90-minute movie.
I found "The Chosen Seven" to be a highly enjoyable and entertaining read!
