Sometimes we misunderstand the things that others do, and the reasons for their actions. We can get ourselves upset by assuming the worst and creating negative thoughts and emotions that lead to low self-worth and unhappiness.
One day in Fairyland, when Fairy Lou Lou Belle flies home from the river with her enchanted water pots, she realises how upset and unhappy her pot Giving is. How will Fairy Lou Lou Belle show her treasured pot how valued and loved she truly is?
In Enchanted Water Pots Giving’s thoughts lead to her unhappy feelings. Children do not understand that not all thoughts are true. As eminent neuro-psychiatrist Dr Daniel Amen said: “Thoughts lie, they lie a lot.”
Our thoughts lead to our feelings. What kinds of thoughts are helpful thoughts and what kinds of thoughts are unhelpful thoughts? Help your child to challenge those unhelpful thoughts that lead to negative emotions.
